Should I use labels, or can the icon stand alone?

In presentations, ALWAYS use labels. Unlike an app where a user explores the interface, a presentation moves fast. You cannot risk the audience guessing what a symbol means while you are speaking.

• Rule of Thumb: If the audience has to think “What is that shape?”, they stopped listening to you.
